Some mega-resorts have over a thousand rooms and the highest hotels in Waikiki are 30 stories high with fantastic views. Room rates at some hotels, especially those around Waikiki Beach, also increase the higher up you go. A luxury hotel beach view room costs about US$400 per night and a standard hotel garden view room about US$100.
